CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Mustard Seed Camp is offering tickets to fly “AIR TEEN MISSIONS” on the newly constructed (non-moveable) airplane. Enjoy “in flight” snacks and video presentations of Teen Missions ministries around the world. You will have your “passport” stamped for each country you “visit”. Train as a Flight Cadet for Jesus when you memorize Scripture, participate in Bible stories, run the Obstacle Course and work on crafts to earn your Wordless Book badges. At the end of the program, you will know how to share the plan of salvation with others. You will also earn the Mustard Seed Wings when you complete your training.

Teen Missions was founded in 1970 by a group of men and women who were passionate about getting youth involved in missions. The founder and director, Robert M. Bland, spent many years as a Youth For Christ director in Chillicothe, Ohio and recruitment director for the Christian Service Corps. The years he spent in ministry made him aware of several things that birthed the idea of Teen Missions:

There were many young people who wanted to serve the Lord in missions, but were not extremely talented and did not have the required skills.

A young girl once said that everyone had explained to her, “Come back when you have finished college and then you can get involved in the Lord’s work.” She stated, “I want to do something for the Lord now, not five years from now.”
In many mission conferences there were no teenagers present at all. They evidently felt that missions were for older people. Mr. Bland felt there was an obvious need to get teenagers involved since they are the next generation of missionaries and leaders.

The innovative idea of involving teenagers in missions continued to develop and that summer the first Teen Missions team embarked to the country of Mexico. Though it was a meager beginning, the program took off and now boasts of over 40 teams that travel to 30 some countries each year. The goal of Teen Missions is to awaken teenagers to the needs in missions, acquaint them with the reality of life on the mission field and give them an opportunity to serve the Lord through work projects and evangelism. Each team member is required to raise their own support to cover the cost of their summer team, which gives them practical experience in raising finances, similar to what other missionaries must do before they go overseas. The money the teens raise goes towards building costs, plane tickets, food and any other supplies needed for their time overseas.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Total involvement is Wednesday, June 22, 2016 – Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Either a parent/guardian or an adult approved by the parent/guardian, must accompany each Mustard Seed for the entire duration of the program. The adult will sleep in the same tent as the Mustard Seed participant. The adult’s expense is the $30 registration fee plus the $119 project expense.

Each Mustard Seed is provided with a food tray, bowl and international costume to use but not to keep. A sterling silver Mustard Seed ring, ID badge, cup, canteen and T-shirt are yours to take home.

CAMP FACILITIES: Historic, fully-functional 1,500 seat theatre which hosts shows, entertainers, and popular acts all year long.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Five incredible powerhouse talents will cover every aspect of musicianship. We're not talking teen camp counselors; these are professional musicians and educators who have performed with the likes of Duke Ellington, Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Junior, Mel Tormé, Johnny Mathis, Styx, Lawrence Welk, Dionne Warwick, and so many more household names, and won so many awards that they've had to put in additions just to hold them all.

Campers won't just practice, learn, and get one-to-one instruction at this camp; they'll have an opportunity to hone their performance skills and play with the seasoned pros, too. This is a dream camp experience for all aspiring musicians.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Weekly Jazz Jams and plenty of live performance opportunities. Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society also presents live musical acts throughout the year, hosts a full week of Jazz Fest every March, and raises funds to provide at least ten scholarships per year for talented young musicians pursuing a career in music.

The first two weeks of Jazz Camp, which are slated for June 12th through the 16th and June 19th through the 23rd, run $135 per week or $250 for both weeks. The Advanced Jazz Camp, June 26 – 30th is $175, and the same week’s Vocal Boot Camp is $165.

CAMP FACILITIES: All Lovewell activities and performances take place in the Don Taft University Center on the NSU campus in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This facility features state-of-the-art theater and music equipment, as well as a plethora of food and beverage options for students to enjoy during their meal breaks.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts has been hosting musical theatre writing workshops for young artists all over the globe for the last 30+ years. All Lovewell programs are staffed by fully-trained professional artists, and every collaborative work of musical theatre that is created is truly one-of-a-kind. At Lovewell, students are given the opportunity to create a new work of theatre from scratch, all the while exploring different avenues of the arts that they may have not been exposed to previously. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. Today we continue to carry the latest in emergency communication systems. According to geographic location, programs are equipped with satellite phones, ground-to-air radios, and/or cellular phones providing the possibility of 24-hour access to medical help in case of emergency.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Trip Leader/Co-Leader

Travel domestically and/or internationally with a group of high-school and/or middle-school students, monitoring and facilitating community service, language/cultural immersion, and/or wilderness adventure trips

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree or in the process of completing a degree. Equivalent experience working with teenagers in related field will be considered if not currently enrolled in school
• Experience Previous program leader experience working with and or teaching young people age ranging in age between 12-19. Knowledge of and experience with group dynamics, teaching or facilitating groups, supervision of meal planning, food preparation and cooking, managing logistics. Ability to teach program specific skills, environmental awareness, and related scientific, cultural, and historical knowledge pertaining to the regions through which you will travel and their relationship to each other.
• Strong Physical Condition
• Current CPR for the professional rescuer
• Current Wilderness First Responder, WEMT or EMT certification
• Current Red Cross lifeguard or Swiftwater rescue certifications preferred but not mandatory
• Current unrestricted valid drivers license with no major convictions during the previous three year period; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, hit and run, homicide or assault with a motor vehicle, drag racing, operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, license suspended or revoked within the previous three year period for accidents and or moving violations. Driving record should reflect no more than three moving violations and/or chargeable accidents during the previous three years

• For Adventure Programs: Knowledge of three or more wilderness travel methods. Whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, international trekking, biking, backpacking, technical rock or ice climbing and mountaineering. Mandatory requirements for adventure trips include: the ability to lead groups of students on backpacking trips of three to eight days, ability to comfortably lead through remote wilderness areas. This includes, but is not limited to, backpacking preparations, backcountry travel, route finding, campsite selection, equipment maintenance, Leave No Trace camping techniques in desert and alpine terrain and proper protocol in dense bear country.

All leaders must possess the ability to make prudent decisions in adverse conditions. International Service Learning and Language Immersion Programs: Leaders and must be highly proficient or fluent in the spoken language of the program country (Spanish, etc.) and have extensive experience with community service, international travel, managing multiple responsibilities abroad, experience and/or living abroad, cultural immersion. Knowledge of the following is helpful but not mandatory: Sea Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Trekking, Surfing, and Snorkeling

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in a fully furnished and comfortable lodge which has been upgraded for wheelchair accessibility, with separate accommodations in the same building for male and female campers. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: UWF's Explore Summer Camps present awesome opportunities for youth to widen horizons and discover new strengths. All of our programs are carefully designed to be engaging and fun. The summer 2020 season is from June 1 to August 7.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp J is a program of the Jack & Lee Rosen Jewish Community Center. We are a cultural institution whose mission is to serve local families and our entire community. Jewish values and culture are the foundation from which we derive our mission. We believe that these values – such as respect, honestly, friendship, and community – are universal.

The Southwest Orlando community is incredibly diverse, and this diversity is embraced in all of our programming. Our goal is to make all campers feel comfortable and included. CAMP FACILITIES: We have multiple classroom spaces for instruction, a multi-purpose room for rehearsals, outdoor patio area to lunch in, and a professional theatre venue that we perform in.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Inside Out Theatre has been serving South Florida with a variety of theatre classes, programs and productions since it began in 1998. The company is a 501(C) not-for-profit organization whose mission is addressing social and community concerns and building character through the performing arts. The company has received numerous awards for its work and produces an average of eight musicals a year. While the Intensives aim to put up a Broadway musical in a concentrated time and professional atmosphere, the Summer Conservatory is a unique program that offers students instruction in a variety of theatre arts while they create an original production based on a socially relevant theme.

Classes include voice, dance, mime, physical comedy, improv, stage-make-up, Shakespeare, audition techniques, film/commercial acting, play-writing, and more. No matter what program a student is involved in, Inside Out Theatre strives to create a positive and creative atmosphere which allows each individual the opportunity for maximum growth, fun, close bonds with new friends and the best summer experience possible!

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Inside Out Theatre offers year round acting classes and workshops that culminate in performances.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have full stage and lighting. We have 2 large dressing rooms and 2 small dressing rooms. We have a beautiful outdoor strip mall. Participants will be able to use all in-house theatrical equipment.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Colony Theatre Performance Camp is led by experienced performers in the performing acts. The Colony Theatre has also received a City Proclamation in 2009.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Camp will culminate with a live performance for the families of the camp participants.
